Obituary for Barbara S Ille (Maichele)
Dateline: Ballston Lake, NY
Barbara Sue (Maichele) Ille, age 84, died on Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, NY.
She was born in April 1936 in Schenectady, NY and was the daughter of the late August and Susan (Sharpley) Maichele.
Barbara grew up on Hetcheltown Road and graduated from Burnt Hills Schools in 1953. She participated in many activities during her years there including several sports, cheerleading, glee club, and band.
Barbara worked as an administrative assistant at the General Electric Co. where she met her husband, William Bernard (Ben) Ille. They were married for 56 years until he passed away in 2015. She was also a school bus driver for the BH-BL School District.
She especially enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, traveling, playing cards, and watching her grandchildren's basketball games. She had a passion for antiques and refinishing furniture. She owned and operated Jasada Antiques in Burnt Hills for nearly 40 years.
She was the wife of the late William B. Ille; mother of Jami (Donald) Juron of Glenville, NY, Daniel Ille of Schenectady, NY, and Sandra (Christopher) Hutchinson of Glenville, NY; grandmother of Patrick (Courtney), Jeffrey (Ashley), Jenna (fiance Richard DiLascio) Juron, and Philip and Steven Hutchinson; and great-grandmother of baby Jack Juron.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Wesley Health Care Center for the compassionate care Barbara received. She was very happy living there.
There will be no calling hours.
A private graveside service will be held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady.
