Obituary for Edmond R. "Ed" Belanger

Dateline: Clifton Park, NY
Edmond R. Belanger, age 88, passed away on October 14, 2018 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. He was born on August 24, 1930 in Amesbury, Massachusetts and was the son of the late Edmond and Yvonne (Perrault) Belanger.
After Ed graduated from Amesbury High School he went on to serve honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. He graduated from Mississippi Southern University with a BA in business. He was a well-known mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Ballston Lake, retiring in February of 1998. Earlier, Ed had worked as the manager at Woolworth, where he met his wife Pat (Pete) and then later as the department manager of Toys for Sears Roebuck Company in Colonie.
Ed was everyone’s friend and well known as a jokester and a flirt. He adored his family and was always involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. He was a generous soul who would never pass by someone needing help. Ed was a communicant and eucharistic minister at Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake. He was active with the Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Council 10869. He loved his church family and always stood up to the fundraising efforts there with success.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann (Mouthorp) Belanger; his loving children Jeffrey (Stacey) Belanger, James J. Belanger, Janis Y. (Timothy) Falk, and Jill R. (David) Griffin; adoring grandchildren Kristian James Murphy, Rachel and Alex Belanger, Meghan, Tess and Max Wallace, Edmond, Adam and Jason Falk, Foster and Hunter Griffin; and his caring siblings Rene Belanger, Jeanette Nadeau, and Margaret Reslewic.
Edmond is predeceased by his siblings Rita Sousey, Lucille Kitchen, Pauline Mushow, Lillian Pryor, Raymond Belanger (his twin) and Robert Belanger.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Rd., Ballston Lake NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9 Round Lake, New York 12151.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edmond’s memory to Ballston Lake Ambulance Service, 1123 Ballston Lake Road Ballston Lake, New York 12019; Jonesville Food Pantry, 963 Main Street Clifton Park, New York 12065; Jonesville Fire Department, 953 Main Street, Clifton Park, New York 12065; or Knights of Columbus Corpus Christi Council, 2001 Route 9, Round Lake, New York 12151.
