Obituary for Edward "Phil" Grega

Edward “Phil” P. Grega, age 71, died suddenly from an accidental fall on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Albany Medical Center. He was born on October 31, 1946 in Gloversville, NY and was the son of the late Edward G. and Theresa R. (Phillips) Grega. He was a graduate of Gloversville High School and later received his Master’s degree in Theology from Cathedral College in New York City. He married the love of his life, Ann M. O’Connell in 1974 and they celebrated once again with a blessing on June 3, 2011. Phil had a rewarding and complete career with General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY as a computer analyst. He was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception. He was an avid animal lover (especially his greyhounds). He enjoyed playing golf and his favorite past time watching his beloved New York Mets.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his step-children, Scott Silber of TN, Kathy Hecker of W. Orange, NJ; his grandchildren, Joseph Linderman of Schenectady, Adam Linderman of Rochester and Erin and Samantha Hecker of NJ and his great-grandchildren, Rebecca Linderman of Schenectady and Jeanette and Benjamin Linderman of Rochester; his cousin, Mary Ann Grega of Northville, NY.; Also, his loving sisters in law Irene Werhan and Margaret Kropchak and their children. He is also predeceased by daughter Sue Linderman and daughter in law Cristi Silber

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, July 5th, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Church of the Immaculate Conception,400 Saratoga Rd, Scotia, N.Y. 12302. Immediately following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM by Father Jerome Gingras, Pastor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Building fund 400 Saratoga Rd, Scotia, N.Y. 12302 or the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave, Schenectady, NY 12302
