Obituary for Lewis B. Ballantyne

DATELINE: CHARLTON, NY
Lewis B. Ballantyne, age 59, of Charlton, NY quietly passed on Saturday at his home with his loving family nearby. He was born on January 17, 1958 in Albany, NY to the late Lewis B. and Mary (Guthrie) Ballantyne. He earned his Associate Degree in Forestry at Paul Smith’s College. Employed with NY State DOT.
Lew shared his love of family and friends with genuine ease and care. A deep devotion to childrearing through rollercoasters and Disney magic. A book reader and library browser brought a lifetime of joy and reward. Devoted to the Sunday NY Times crossword puzzle, he was a master basement-workshop dweller and strived to perfect a good smoked brisket.
Survived by spouse, Nancy A. (Snyder) Ballantyne; father of Wilson M (Laura) Ballantyne and James A Ballantyne; brother of Gregory (Lynn Zoch) Ballantyne, Chris (Suzy) Ballantyne and uncle of their children: Patrick, Tyler and Katie; brother-in-law of James, and Larry Snyder; uncle of Marla Portra; and son-in-law of Millicent Snyder.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM. All are welcome to stay and share stories with the family at 5:30PM to conclude the evening. In lieu of flowers we encourage donations to be made to the American Lung Association, it’s what he would have wanted.

With confidence, the family has placed their trust in the loving care of the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, and they encourage you to view and leave messages on Lewis’ Book of Memories atwww.TownleyWheelerFH.com
