Obituary for Helen B. Sarsick (Austro)

Helen Sarsick ,80, passed away surrounded by her family on January 4, 2017 while in Ellis Hospital. Helen was born in Charlton, NY on the family farm on Peaceable Street. She was the daughter of the late Idydor and Regina (Bielawski) Austro.
Helen was the beloved wife of Ronald Sarsick and spent 56 years, 5 months and 4 days in wedded bliss while living and working on the family homestead. Together they built the successful North Country Log Homes and worked for years side by side growing the business on Peaceable Street.
Helen was an avid crafter and loved toiling in her gardens, whether it be planting beautiful flowers to attract her adored hummingbirds or vegetables to have fresh on the table.
Helen was the loving wife of Ronald, devoted mother of Shelly-Lynne (William) Smith, Stephen (Christine) Sarsick, and the late Karen Sarsick; doting grandmother of Justin (Kayla Axelston) Sarsick, Kevin Sarsick, Nathan Smith, Nicholas (Angela Taylor-Smith) Smith, and Sarah Kemble; loving great-grandmother of Remington Smith and Mia Sarsick; caring sister of Mike (Sandy) Austro and the late Margaret Revell, Sophie McCane, Mary “Bella” Gocha, Edward Austro, Raymond Austro, Ben Austro, and Andrew Austro.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Townley and Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Rd., Ballston Lake, NY 12019. Funeral will be held at 3:00 PM immediately following the calling hours. Interment will be held in the spring in Pinegrove Cemetery, Charlton.
