Obituary for James A Miller
Dateline – Schenectady, NY
James A. Miller, age 49, died peacefully on Monday, July 2, 2018. He was born on July 25, 1968 in Saratoga Springs, NY and was the son of Carol (Petteys) Sheridan and Richard Sheridan. James was a graduate of Ballston Spa High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree at Geneseo College.
Jim had a lifelong love and passion for sports. He enjoyed playing golf with his many friends and was an amazing golfer. Jim and Renée enjoyed cooking dinner and celebrating their time together. Jim loved old shows and movies and reminiscing about the good things in life.
Jim had a rewarding career in all aspects of the restaurant business, most recently as the bar manager of Brook Tavern in Saratoga Springs.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his beloved wife, Renée J. Miller; his dear children, Jordan and Jacob Miller, Bindi Sue Miller and Spike Lee Miller; his step-children, Marlee, Samuel, Benjamin and Joseph McWain; his caring sister Christine (David) Otto; and loving nieces and nephews, Kes, Lily and Henry. Jim is also survived by his grandmother, Lorraine Petteys, whom he loved very much and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Renée Miller requests that donations be made to Ellis Hospital C Wing – 1 Cancer and Continued Care Unit, 1101 Nott St, Schenectady, NY 12308 for their amazing care of Jimmy or to Community Hospice, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
